Plenary: Freedom for Political Prisoners - In Defense of Activists
On June 7, 2025, the International Plenary for the Freedom of Political Prisoners and in Defense of Activists is convened by La Marx International. The struggles, uprisings and revolutions that confront capitalist governments around the world are led by thousands of activists and leaders who confront dictatorships and also bourgeois democratic regimes that defend the interests of the ruling classes. These regimes imprison, torture, and repress leaders and activists to stop and defeat the struggles. For this reason, a fundamental task in defense of revolutions is the struggle for the freedom of political prisoners and activists.
Led by Sergio Andrés Pastor González, and the political prisoners of the 1st Line of Colombia, the Plenary demands the Freedom of Mahmoud Khalil, a political prisoner in the United States for defending the rights of the Palestinian people. The U.S. oligarchy headed by Donald Trump persecutes activists who mobilize in favor of Palestine. We defend Palestinian political prisoners persecuted in the United States, and we demand the release of Palestinian political prisoners imprisoned in Israel. We stand up for activists around the world who are leading the Intifada and mobilizations for a Free Palestine from the river to the sea!
The Plenum demands the Freedom of the 5,000 Political Prisoners in Russia and Belarus, convicted by the dictatorship of Vladimir Putin's capitalist oligarchy! Freedom for activists imprisoned for fighting against the invasion of Ukraine! Immediate restitution of the thousands of Ukrainian children kidnapped by the dictatorship!
The Plenary demands the Freedom of Pablo Hasel Catalan political prisoner in Spain! Enough of the persecution of activists in Spain and all of Europe! In turn, the Plenum demands the Freedom of the political prisoners in China Ding Jiaxi and Xu Zhiyong, in addition to the political prisoners of the 1st Line of Hong Kong!
We demand the Freedom of the Political Prisoners of the Front Line in Colombia! Freedom for Sergio Andrés Pastor González and the political prisoners of Colombia! For the Freedom of the 600 political prisoners in Chile, and the political prisoners of the Front Line in Chile! We demand the freedom of the more than 900 political prisoners in Venezuela! Freedom for Dr. Rocío San Miguel, human rights activist imprisoned for more than a year without the right to defense!
We demand the Freedom of the 1000 Political Prisoners in Cuba! Enough of the persecution of Danaisi Muñoz, Eralidis Frometa and Lazaro Juri Valle Roca, persecuted for fighting against the capitalist dictatorship of Cuba! We demand the freedom of political prisoners in Nicaragua! Enough of the persecution and prosecution of Haydee Castillo, Mónica Baltodano, Cecilia Zeledón by the Ortega-Murillo dictatorship! Freedom for the 200 Nicaraguan political prisoners! Freedom for Ever Henríquez Cruz and the 100 El Salvador political prisioneers!
